ABOUT NORTH WEST RENOVATIONS LTD

NWR Doors is part of North West Renovations Ltd which is a family-owned building company and Linac door specialist business and is run by Michael and Sharon Graham.
The company has been established for over 30 years and has been in the Radiation Door and shielding Industry for over 10 years. We have completed numerous door installations and have multiple maintenance service contracts in the UK and across Europe.

Please refer to case studies for our examples and the work we have completed. NWR Doors work throughout Europe installing and providing preventative maintenance on all types of electric motor drives. We provide a 24 hour, 7 days a week, 365 days a year service, ensuring treatment continuity.
Preventative maintenance is a big part of our business, therefore we offer bespoke maintenance plans to suit all door types based on the usage of the door.

CASE STUDIES

UK - RADIOTHERAPY TREATMENT ROOM

This particular style of door is a slider shield door with an NB4000 motor operator. They were fitted in 2014. The doors are necessary for the prevention of radiation leakage and are approximately 12ft high and 12ft wide, as well as weighing approximately 27 tonne. The doors can be filled with many different combinations of shielding from boron to lead block and high-density block. These particular doors were filled with interlocking lead block and borate pellets shown in the pictures. The door is suspended from an I-beam and runs on roller bearings and is powered by a 3/4 horse power motor and gear. There are three banks of switches on this model with open and close partial open and stop, there are also presence sensors on the front and rear of the door when activated will stop the door and return to the open position. There is also a battery back up fitted in case the power fails, the door will then open. Also there is a crank arm fitted which can open the door manually. The motor is controlled with a handheld digital pad through PLC.

SWEDEN - RADIOTHERAPY TREATMENT

This particular style of door is a slider shield door with an NB4000 motor operator. They were fitted in 2015. The doors can be filled with many different combinations of shielding from boron to lead block and high-density block. These particular doors were filled interlocking lead block and 2 different density borate sheets shown in the pictures. The door is suspended from an I-beam and runs on roller bearings and is powered by a 3/4 horse power motor and gear. There are three banks of switches on this model with open and close, partial open, and stop. There are also presence sensors on the front and rear of the door which when activated will stop the door and and return it to the open position. There is also a battery back up fitted in case the power fails, causing the door to open. There is also a crank arm fitted which can open the door manually. THE NETHERLANDS - PROTON THERAPY TREATMENT

This particular style of door is a slider shield door with an NB4000 motor operator. They were fitted in 2015. The doors are necessary for the prevention of proton radiation leakage and are approximately 9ft high and 9ft wide, as well as weighing approximately 10 tonne. The doors can be filled with many different combinations of shielding from boron to lead block and high-density block. These particular doors were filled with a high density block shown in the pictures. The door is suspended from an I-beam and runs on roller bearings, and is powered by a 3/4 horse power motor and gear. There are two banks of switches on this model  with open and close, partial open, and stop. There are also presence sensors which will stop the door and and return it the open position when activated. There is also a battery backup fitted in case the power fails, causing the door to open. The motor is controlled with a handheld digital pad through PLC.
